Your cloud, managed beautifully with Joli OS 1.2

Jolicloud had just announced recently they were going to release version 1.2 soon. Well they weren't kidding, it's available now for download and cooler than ever.

Jolicloud connects you to all the things you care about in the cloud. Well now, the OS has lost the "cloud" part of its name. However, now it's more cloud focused than ever. The entire OS has always revolved around web apps, and now the focus is on making those easier to share, discover, and create. I am very impressed with this OS, I see a great future ahead for Joli OS.

Here is a bit of the press release from Joli OS:
Joli OS 1.2, a new name of an Ubuntu-based distribution formerly known as Jolicloud, has been released: "Following up on our previous blog posts on the new direction for Jolicloud and the Joli OS 1.2 feature list, we’d like to share with you some of the features that are available in the new Jolicloud desktop and Joli OS 1.2. Both of which are now available. We enhanced the design and fine-tuned the user interface. Features like application sharing (the little star) can now be found more easily. We have included lots of cool new wallpapers. Now you can easily create your own applications in seconds; just type in the URL of your favorite site and Jolicloud will add it as an application to your Launcher. You can even share your creations with friends. Link your Dropbox account to your Jolicloud and access your files from any instance of your Jolicloud desktop." Read the rest of the release announcement for more information and screenshots.

Well, there you have it folks, Joli OS is a free and easy way to turn any computer up to 10 years old into a cool new cloud device. Get on the Web and instantly connect to all your Web apps, files and services using the computer you already own.

You may never need to buy a new computer again. It’s easy. Just download Joli OS. It installs in just 10 minutes. You gotta love open source technology!
